The labor force expanded by 6.6% year-on-year to around 34.2 million individuals in 2025, compared with 32.04 million in 2024.
The rate is projected to continue its downward trend, falling to 4.4% by 2034.
The drop comes as the labor force expanded by 1% quarter-on-quarter to reach 33.4 million.
Youth unemployment, covering the age group 15–29 years, also saw improvement, reaching 14.9% of the total labor force within the same age category, down by 1.0 percentage point from the previous year.
Speaking at the Doha Forum 2024, he emphasized that over the past 10 years, the government has consistently created new job opportunities while navigating economic challenges.
